| Abstract: | O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar um levantamento das características anatômicas dos forames linguais mediais, com base em pesquisas já publicadas. Embora o conteúdo dos canais incisivos relacionados com esses forames possa variar; há relatos consistentes de intercorrências pós operatórias na região anterior de mandíbula, como parestesias temporárias e hematomas sublinguais comprometendo as vias respiratórias superiores. A quantidade de forames linguais mediais encontrados em estudos anatômicos e imaginológicos indicou que esta estrutura está presente na maioria absoluta dos indivíduos, com prevalência variando entre 93,33% a 100 deste achado anatômico em diferentes populações. Suas características anatômicas são variadas, em número e morfologia. Em avaliações do diâmetro dos forames, o valor médio geral variou de 0,8mm a 1,2mm, sendo 0,2mm o menor diâmetro encontrado, e 2,63mm o maior. Considerando os artigos selecionados para o presente trabalho, a tomografia computadorizada de feixe cônico apresenta alta acurácia diagnóstica para a avaliação da região anterior mandibular, se apresentando como um importante exame complementar em planejamentos cirúrgicos para a Odontologia. |
| Abstract: | The objective of this work was to carry out a survey of the anatomical characteristics of the medial lingual foramina, based on research already published. Although the content of the incisor channels related to these foramina may vary; there are consistent reports of postoperative complications in the anterior region of the mandible, such as temporary paresthesias and sublingual hematomas compromising the upper respiratory tract. The amount of medial lingual foramina found in anatomical and imaging studies indicated that this structure is present in the absolute majority of individuals, with prevalence ranging from 93.33% to 100 of this anatomical finding in different populations. Its anatomical characteristics are varied, in number and morphology. In evaluations of the diameter of the foramens, the general mean value varied from 0.8mm to 1.2mm, with 0.2mm being the smallest diameter found, and 2.63mm the largest. Considering the articles selected for the present work, the cone beam computed tomography has a high diagnostic accuracy for the evaluation of the mandibular anterior region, presenting itself as an important complementary exam in surgical planning for Dentistry |
