| Abstract: | Neste trabalho trataremos da representação da imortalidade da alma na cultura Cristã. Utilizamos a pintura como meio de análise. A pintura cristã até o século XIX utiliza símbolos, como os túmulos abertos, a uva e o vinho, que representam a imortalidade através da vitória do Cristo sobre a morte na cruz. A Doutrina Espírita, 1857, propõe nova forma de representar a imortalidade utilizando também a uva como seu símbolo, mas de forma mais simples. Seu objetivo é destacar que a imortalidade é atributo do espírito, e que todos nós somos imortais, independentemente de nossa escolha religiosa. |
| Abstract: | In this paper we will study the representation of the immortality of the soul in Christian culture. Paintings will be used for analysis. Up to the nineteenth century Christian painting used symbols, such as the open grave, the grape and the wine, representing the immortality through the victory of Christ over death on the cross.The Spiritist Doctrine, 1857, proposes a new way of representing immortality using also the grape as its symbol, but in a most simple manner. Its goal is to highlight that immortality is an attribute of all of us, spirits, regardless of our religious choice. |
