Title: Planejamento de reformas de edificações comerciais : um estudo de caso
Abstract: When talking about planning and control in works, it can be said that they are characterized by a mix of tools and strategies that are used by managers in the execution and planning of a work, which positively or negatively influence its results. The work is justified by being a knowledge initiative with a scientific perspective, based on a bibliographical research on the topic of planning and its tools, in addition to seeking to understand the application of planning in a renovation work, with easy collaboration of everyone involved in the construction and excellence of the project. A descriptive research is presented, through a case study in a CDLBH Retrofit project, located at Avenida João Pinheiro, 495 – Centro, Belo Horizonte. It is concluded that the work presented interferences and delays, in addition to project changes, factors that culminated in increased costs and extension of project deadlines. Which becomes critical in the process. Through this scenario, the aim is to improve the use of planning tools that can overcome these interferences and maintain good teaching on the site and between construction managers.

Title: O servir na construção : melhorias para o trabalho invisível
Abstract: The general objective of this monograph is to better understand the modus operandi
of construction workers who hold the position of laborer on construction sites, so that
management strategies and construction technologies can be subsequently devised
to improve the productivity of these workers and, consequently, business productivity.
The methodology employed consisted of a literature review on the subject and the
administration of questionnaires with both open and closed-ended questions to a
sample of laborers on site, at a construction site in the municipality of Belo Horizonte.
The results obtained confirmed the initial hypotheses of this research, indicating that
laborers engage in work activities that demand significant physical effort, experience
substantial fatigue after a workday, and such factors lead to bodily pain. Pain and
fatigue negatively impact the health and dignity of the worker and business
productivity. As a conclusion to this academic work, recommendations were
proposed to mitigate or improve this problem situation.

Title: Roteiro de planejamento e gerenciamento em obras de médio e alto padrão : um estudo de caso
Abstract: In civil construction activities, from the feasibility study of a project to its execution, the
ability of the work to be carried out in such a way as to be financially sustainable
throughout its duration is always taken into account, at the same time as it requires
compliance with technical standards and quality of services. The lack or inefficiency of
planning and cost control is the main cause of many losses, both financial and in the
delivery of services on time, resulting in errors in the execution of the sequence of
construction stages, and its correct implementation brings considerable economic
gains to the work. . This study presents a planning and management guide for medium
and high-end construction projects: a case study. A comparison study is presented
between two works carried out by the same company, one that used the management
method and the other that did not. The two works studied have equivalent built area
and expected cost of labor and material. The management applied in the execution of
the work proved to be essential for the final success of this project, carried out through
the implementation of controls regarding deadlines, costs and definition of labor and
defined stages. Furthermore, it is necessary for the construction manager to have
knowledge of project and people management, as well as a work team aligned with
the company's guidelines, executing what was defined during the planning of the work
and the work budget, and applying the steps so that it is executed with total coherence.

Abstract: The civil construction sector is one of the most important in Brazil, and is historically linked to
the growth of the country's economy. In recent decades, the sector has been undergoing a
modernization movement in search of greater efficiency and productivity, in which the design
activity has been recognized as a decisive factor in guaranteeing the quality of the project.
Improving the quality of projects is all the more important the more complex the building in
question, as is the case with school architecture. The school can be considered the physical
support of the educational organization, which means that it needs to be equipped with
conditions that determine comfort, safety and performance. Historically, the construction of
public schools in the country has been guided by the concern to meet the demand for places,
resorting to the standardization of projects as an alternative to reduce costs and construction
time, in addition to the search for agility in the bidding process.
Standardizing and recording the construction solutions adopted and the procedures used in
the design of buildings can help produce data that will serve as input for new projects and for
the continuous improvement of the process. In this sense, the use of indicators can provide
comparative parameters for designers in order to reduce the degree of uncertainty when
making decisions, as well as feeding back into the design process with measured information
on the building's performance.
This paper is a case study of a standard school project, developed by the Ministry of
Education, in terms of the performance of its design indicators. The justification for this
investigation is that the existence of sector indicators allows for the adoption of comparative
benchmarks and the establishment of optimum parameters, which are fundamental for
quality management and the setting of targets for the improvement of the design process.
The aim is to contribute to the conceptualization of the subject and to provide an initial set of
reference data for school projects and their specific typologies.
The results obtained represent a first step towards diagnosing performance indicators for
school architecture. Once more data is available on school buildings, it will be possible to
carry out a broader assessment of the definition of benchmarks for this typology.
