Abstract

INTRODUCTION: integrative health practices are activities that provide comfort to the mothers (mothers) who suffer with their child hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit (nicu), the intermediate and complementary care unit (ucinco), the kangaroo intermediate care unit nicu) and professionals who deal with pain and death daily. OBJECTIVE: to implement integrative health practices for the comfort of mothers with children hospitalized at the nicu, ucinco and nicu, as well as the maternity health professionals. METHODOLOGY: the integrative practices project is an intervention carried out in a public maternity center, with emphasis on the politics of integrative and complementary practices. after sensitizing the managers, contact with the mothers and professionals, the conversation started and with three months was evaluated. RESULTS: due to the high rate of hospitalization due to prematurity in the nicu and most often by adolescent mothers, integrative practices provide support to face the pain they are experiencing. through reflection, meditation and relaxation techniques, resulting in self-esteem, empathy and social interaction between mothers and professionals. they evaluated practices as a way to bring more comfort and strength to mothers and professionals. CONCLUSION: the integrative practices of comfort help mothers care and unveil professionals. CONTRIBUTIONS: the project is of great value, since it is an intervention of obstetric nursing specialization, which sought to respond to the humanization of care to the mother-child binomial. assisting the newborn and caring for the mother so that she can continue the care. strengthen her to have the empowerment of her child. and, in the case of a maternity hospital with the title of a child-friendly hospital, it was sought to look at mother-child care as a whole. just like, take care of who cares, in this case the caregiver (professional).
