Abstract

This paper describes and analyzes the transport operation and productivity in the supply of tankers in Base Fuel Distribution for a company near the oil refinery Petrobras REGAP (Gabriel Passos Refinery), located in the city of Betim-MG. The company Fuel Distribution, focus of this study, has its own fleet vehicles and also uses aggregate. It uses in its own operations the traditional logistics Top Loading system and the modern Bottom Loading system to make deliveries to post consumers. Due to the high cost in fuel distribution, one of the first challenges is to make a diagnosis, through bibliographic research, the main advantages or opportunities, in terms to increase competitiveness and profitability by replacing the type of loading of tank trucks currently used. In the context described, it was found that the choice between the logistics traditional charging system Top Loading and the modern system Bottom Loading reveals an important factor in reducing operating costs and consequently translates to gain competitiveness and profitability for the company. Technological development has enabled many advances in various areas of human activity. The use of these new technologies in the logistics industry has resulted in increasingly fierce competition, and details before even ignored, can become the difference. In this sense, technical logistics can make difference in their performance and competitiveness.
