Abstract

Prenatal is the period before the child's birth, in which a set of actions is applied to the individual and collective health of pregnant women. The Family Health Strategy (ESF) provides prenatal care quality, and the bond established between professionals with pregnant women is essential for the adhesion of the same program of prenatal care. This study is important to demonstrate the importance of assistance to women in prenatal care by the ESF, contributing to reduce morbidity and mortality related to pregnancy. The objective was to understand the scientific literature on the importance of prenatal care in the units of ESF and thereby subsidize both the maintenance of actions already carried out for changes in services that are disabled in order to the adequacy of prenatal care and ensuring access to health services in the area of the team ESF 20 - Belo Horizonte Pouso Alegre. For this literature review was conducted using the Review Narrative. There are countless studies that deal with the evaluation of prenatal care. And they show a good adequacy of prenatal care offered by the ESF. There was a superior performance compared to the traditional, in some procedures, but was also identified that there are others who are less than expected, showing that the practices of health workers in antenatal care should continue to be improved. This work allows us to highlight the specifics of the care model advocated by the ESF, in which care is usually provided by the same professionals every opportunity to user contact with the health service. This feature, among others, provides, in the case of pregnant women, the security desired and necessary in the course of pregnancy.
