Prevenção do desmame precoce: prevenção na Atenção Primária

Abstract

Breastfeeding is critical to ensure proper growth and development of infants, and provides numerous benefits for maternal health. The success of breastfeeding depends on various factors related to the mother, the child, the environment, the conditions of birth and post-partum, and other factors. The situational diagnosis in the catchment area of the Health Strategy for the family of Angelo Castro in Junho showed a high rate of early weaning. This study aimed to develop an intervention project for the team work process is strengthened with regard to strengthening the reduction of early weaning rates. The methodology was based on literature search of articles in the SciELO database with the following keywords: Weaning, breastfeeding and primary health care as well as the Ministry of Health Manuals The project will be developed through educational and guidance to mothers about the importance of breastfeeding, with meetings scheduled on the correct shape of the handle, "week of lactation", focused lectures not only mothers, as for the family, distribution of illustrated leaflets on issues that generate more questions about breastfeeding and identification the health care professional, through observation protocol on difficulties of breastfeeding in periodic visits to mothers and infants. With educational activities is intended to educate professionals, managers and the general population about the importance of breastfeeding, reducing early weaning index in the area.
