dc.description.abstractThe first aim of this paper is to examine the foundations of Hannah Arendt 's criticism of representative democracy. To do so, it will be necessary to retake the central aspects of her analyzes of Greek democracy, including her invectives against the tradition of Political Philosophy that has obscured its authentic meaning. Secondly, the article attempts to demonstrate that Arendt's reservations about representative democracy does not, in anyway, lead to its complete rejection.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoEste trabalho tem por primeiro objetivo examinar os fundamentos das críticas de Hannah Arendt à democracia representativa. Para tanto, será preciso retomar os aspectos centrais de suas análises da democracia grega, incluindo suas invectivas contra a tradição da Filosofia Política que teria obscurecido seu sentido autêntico. Em segundo lugar, o artigo tenta demonstrar que as reservas de Arendt a respeito da democracia representativa não conduz, em absoluto, a sua completa rejeição.pt_BR
