dc.description.abstractThe COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to the incalculable burden of illness and suffering, has brought numerous challenges to Primary Health Care (PHC) (1–3). Among them are the difficulties and restrictions for scientific events. In-person conferences, which are of fundamental importance for technical qualification and maintaining motivation for work and where professionals from a specific area regularly meet and update themselves, suddenly became unfeasible. This was the challenging scenario faced by the board of directors of the Association of Family and Community Medicine (AMMFC) at the beginning of 2020, a year full of uncertainty and anguish, added to the fear of the unfeasibility of holding the 8th Minas Gerais Congress of Family Medicine and Community (8th CMMFC) scheduled for that year.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoA pandemia da COVID-19, para além da incalculável carga de adoecimento e sofrimento, trouxe inúmeros desafios para a Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS) (1–3). Dentre eles, estão as dificuldades e restrições para os eventos científicos. Os congressos presenciais que são de fundamental importância para a qualificação técnica e a manutenção da motivação para o trabalho e onde regularmente profissionais de uma área se encontram e se atualizam, de repente, se tornaram inviáveis. Foi este o cenário desafiador enfrentado pela diretoria da Associação de Medicina de Família e Comunidade (AMMFC) no início do ano de 2020, um ano cheio de incertezas e angústias, somado ao temor da inviabilidade de se executar o 8º Congresso Mineiro de Medicina de Família e Comunidade (8º CMMFC) previsto para aquele ano.pt_BR
