| Abstract: | The start of the vaccination against COVID-19 was an essential step towards the end of the pandemic. In Brazil, CoronaVac was the first vaccine to be applied in the immunization campaign, and it is one of the most used today. Still, CoronaVac has specific components that have driven the spread of misinformation online. In this work, we compare the dissemination of misinformation on Twitter about the approval of such a vaccine for adults and children. The results show that misinformation is significant on Twitter and there has been a substantial change in the style of such content shared between 2021 and 2022, moving from a false narrative about the development of the vaccine to raising suspicions on the approval process by the health regulatory agency. |
| Abstract: | O início da vacinação contra a COVID-19 foi um passo essencial para o fim da pandemia. No Brasil, a CoronaVac foi a primeira vacina a ser aplicada na campanha de imunização, e é uma das mais utilizadas atualmente. Ainda assim, a CoronaVac possui características específicas que impulsionaram a disseminação de desinformação online. Neste trabalho, comparamos a disseminação de desinformação no Twitter sobre a aprovação de tal vacina para adultos e crianças. Os resultados mostram que a desinformação é significativa no Twitter e que houve uma mudança substancial no estilo de tal conteúdo compartilhado entre 2021 e 2022, passando de uma falsa narrativa sobre o desenvolvimento da vacina para o levantamento de suspeitas sobre o processo de aprovação pelo órgão regulador de saúde. |
