| Abstract: | O atendimento domiciliar gerontológico é um serviço que beneficia a população idosa que vem aumentando e conseqüentemente a prevalência de doenças crônicas e o desenvolvimento de incapacidades. Com o objetivo de apresentar as contribuições deste tipo de atendimento para o cuidado ao idoso no âmbito familiar e biopsicossocial, foi realizada uma revisão narrativa da literatura nas bases de dados do SCIELO (Scientific Eletronic Library On-line) e Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde (BVS) de artigos publicados no período de 2000 a outubro de 2010. Os resultados deste estudo reforçam a importância deste atendimento pela equipe da saúde da família e os benefícios do atendimento domiciliar, uma vez que ele acelera a recuperação do paciente e promove a redução dos custos da atenção, fortalece as relações idoso/família/cuidador, a manutenção de uma atenção personalizada, valorizando o idoso, caracterizando-se como um atendimento mais humanizado. |
| Abstract: | The gerontological home care is a service that benefits the elderly population is increasing and therefore the prevalence of chronic diseases and the development of disabilities. In order to present the contributions of this type of care for elderly care in the family and biopsychosocial, we performed a narrative review of the literature in the databases of SCIELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) and the Virtual Health Library (VHL) of articles published from 2000 to October 2010. The results of this study reinforce the importance of attendance by the family health team and the benefits of home care, since it accelerates patient recovery and promotes the reduction of costs of care, strengthen old relationships / family / caregiver, the maintenance of personal attention, valuing the elderly, characterized as a more humanized. |
