| Abstract: | O Diabetes Mellitus constitui-se em um importante problema de saúde pública, evidenciado pelas crescentes taxas de morbimortalidade e, principalmente pelo desenvolvimento de complicações crônicas incapacitantes, dentre as quais se destacam as amputações de membros inferiores. Diante disso, têm-se buscado metodologias capazes de favorecer uma visão real do problema, principalmente no que diz respeito aos fatores pautados nas práticas de autocuidado do indivíduo no contexto familiar e comunitário. O presente estudo teve como objetivo identificar as evidências científicas disponíveis na literatura, relacionadas à adoção de estratégias de educação em saúde para prevenção da amputação em pacientes com diagnóstico clínico de Diabetes. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura que buscou a partir dos descritores Educação, Saúde, Amputação e Diabetes Mellitus, selecionar produções científicas na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde. Utilizou-se como critérios de inclusão: artigos em inglês, espanhol e português, disponíveis na integra, publicados no período de 2003 a 2013 e, como critérios de exclusão: teses, dissertações, livros, relatórios de conferências, resumos de congressos e artigos que não responderam à seguinte questão norteadora: Quais estratégias educativas têm sido desenvolvidas para a prevenção da amputação em pacientes com Diabetes Mellitus? Foi aplicado um instrumento já elaborado e adaptado pelos pesquisadores com o intuito de melhor responder aos objetivos do estudo. Encontrou-se em uma primeira busca 37 artigos e depois de aplicados os critérios de inclusão e exclusão, foram selecionados 6 (seis) artigos para constituir a amostra. Após a análise dos artigos selecionados, emergiram as seguintes categorias: Estratégias Educativas voltadas para a prevenção da amputação em pacientes com Diabetes Mellitus e A importância da Educação em Saúde para a prevenção de complicações relacionadas ao Diabetes Mellitus. Diante do crescente número de indivíduos com Diabetes Mellitus e dos variados riscos para complicações relacionados à doença, faz-se necessária a implementação de medidas educativas visando estimular o desenvolvimento de habilidades capazes de instrumentalizar o conhecimento e o autocuidado. Dessa forma, cabe ressaltar que os profissionais de saúde precisam estar preparados para realizar a educação em saúde, buscando fortalecer as ações preventivas e incentivar a autonomia das pessoas, na perspectiva de que possam ter uma vida mais saudável. |
| Abstract: | Diabetes Mellitus constitutes an important public health problem, evidenced by rising rates of morbidity and mortality, mainly by developing disabling chronic complications, among which stand out the lower limb amputations. Therefore, methods have been sought able to create a real vision of the problem, particularly with regard to the factors in guided self-care practices in the individual's family and community context. The present study aimed to identify the scientific evidence available in the literature related to health education for the prevention of amputations in patients with clinical diagnosis of Diabetes. This is an integrative literature review that sought the descriptors "Education", "Health", "amputation" and "Diabetes Mellitus", select scientific production in the Virtual Health Library was used as inclusion criteria: articles in English, Spanish and Portuguese, available in full, published between 2003-2013 and exclusion criteria : theses, dissertations , books , conference reports , conference abstracts and articles that did not answer the following question: "what educational strategies have been developed for the prevention of amputation in patients with diabetes mellitus?" an instrument already developed and adapted by researchers in order to better meet the objectives of the study was applied . It was found in an initial search 37 articles and after application of the inclusion and exclusion criteria, we selected six (6) articles to constitute the sample. After the analysis of the selected articles, the following categories emerged: "Educational strategies aimed at the prevention of amputations in patients with Diabetes Mellitus" and "The Importance of Health Education for the prevention of complications related to Diabetes Mellitus." Given the growing number of individuals with diabetes mellitus and varying risks for complications related to the disease, it is necessary to implement educational measures to stimulate the development of skills capable of exploiting the knowledge and self-care. Thus, it is noteworthy that health professionals need to be prepared to carry out health education, seeking to strengthen preventive measures and encourage independence for people, the prospect of which may have a healthier life. |
