| Abstract: | O objetivo deste trabalho foi descrever e discorrer sobre o tratamento de uma fratura em mandibula atrofica ocorrida durante a instalacao de implantes dentarios curtos, onde e apresentada a revisao de literatura e o relato de um caso clinico. A revisao de literatura descreve os metodos de reabilitacao de mandibulas atroficas mais preconizados atualmente e discorre sobre os implantes dentarios curtos disponiveis no mercado atualmente que podem ser utilizados para solucionar os casos em que a instalacao de implantes de tamanho convencional estao contra indicados. O caso clinico citado e de uma paciente que sofreu fratura em mandibula atrofica durante a instalacao de implantes curtos para a confeccao de uma protese tipo protocolo, cujo procedimento adotado para a reducao das fraturas existentes e prevenir o surgimento de outras futuras, foi a instalacao de uma placa de titanio de 2,4 mm de oito furos e mais 2 implantes curtos em regiao posterior de mandibula para melhor distribuicao das forcas produzidas durante a mastigacao. |
| Abstract: | Treatment of atrophic mandible fracture occurred during an installation of dental implants: review of literature and case report.The aim of this study was to describe and discuss the treatment of an atrophic mandible fracture during the installation of short dental implants, in which the literature review and the report of a clinical case are presented. The literature review describes the currently recommended methods of atrophic jaw rehabilitation and discusses the currently available short dental implants on the market that can be used to address cases where conventional-sized implant placement is contraindicated. The clinical case cited is that of a patient who suffered a fracture in the atrophic mandible during the installation of short implants for the creation of a prototype, a procedure whose adopted procedure was to reduce existing fractures and prevent the appearance of future fractures. an 8-mm 2,4 mm titanium plate and 2 short implants in the posterior mandible for better distribution of the forces produced during mastication.
