Acesso aos serviços de saúde pela população em situação de rua do município de Sete Lagoas / MG

Abstract

The street population is a social phenomenon in a considerable national rise, which, together with this growth, also increases the barriers to access to public services, especially in the health sector. The objective of this article is to describe and analyze the difficulties of access to health services by the population living in the city of Sete Lagoas, with the purpose of suggesting a strategy already known in other places, to be directed to the target public. This study is characterized by anexploratory research of a qualitative nature. As methods of data collection, bibliographical research, documentary research and field research were used, using semi-structured interviews carried out with the coordinations of the institutions Pop Center, Acolher and Santa Luzia Health Center, and field dialogues with street dwellers . Based on the information collected through the semi-structured interviews, the results showed the lack of public policies aimed at this Setelago population. As a proposal to solve the difficulties of accessing health services by street people and to consolidate the universal, equitable and integral guarantee of the public's health rights, it was proposed to set up the Street Office, which, besides considering the needs individual and collective, has the objective in the promotion, prevention and recovery of the health of this segment.
