Mães órfãs: produzindo novos olhares a partir de modos de existência e resistência singulares

Abstract

This work is inserted in the research front of the Observatory of Policies and Care in Health of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) denominated Orphan Mothers. It is a cartographic exercise produced in the light of the intensities that mark the life of these mothers, relatives and workers who experienced the studied phenomenon. The main actors involved and the values defended by them were identified, as well as the fields of disputes were presented from the perspectives of different subjects, identified the effects of compulsory separations for the life of women and their babies, and produced an understanding about the care offered to pregnant and vulnerable women in Belo Horizonte. Narratives were presented that discuss the separation of mothers and children in situations of vulnerability and, in order to capture correspondences and dissonances with these narratives, excerpts were selected from interviews conducted by the Observatory of Health Care Policies and Care. Documentary sources such as regulations and minutes of meetings were also taken into account. As a researcher in mundo, my experiences were also incorporated in the analysis. Two recommendations (N. 05 and 06/2014 of the MG Public Prosecutor's Office) and Ordinance N. 03/2016 of the Children's Court in Belo Horizonte, related to the measures of compulsory separation of mothers and babies, constituted important nuclei of analysis in this research. The singularities of the lives of these women, as well as the sensitivity of managers and workers who deal with the issue, have contributed to pointing out possible ways to confront the situation. This was an opportunity to give visibility to the survival strategies of these women, to interrogate certainties about the other's life possibilities and to know care plans that reduce damage to life and, in network, slash established walls.
