Abstract: | This work presents a narrative as a teacher-artist in a non-formal education project of the city of Belo Horizonte, MG. In an attempt to theorize my pedagogical practice in Visual Arts, I introduce the text with a brief history of teaching Art in Brazil from the 1980s to the present, creating a parallel with my experience with teaching Visual Arts in education formal and non-formal education. For this, I refer to the Triangular Approach and the theoretical teachings of the teacher-researchers Ana Mae Barbosa and Lucia Gouveia Pimentel. Based on the importance of stimulating a more authorial artistic production for my students, I seek inspiration and enjoyment in the life and work of the artists Frida Kahlo and Louise Bourgeois, with the reverberation of their life stories in their works and vice versa. I conclude by presenting reports and images about the collective exhibition “Women of the world: Jônia Vieira and her students”, held in galleries in BH between the years 2018 to 2020. With this work, I try to contribute to a quality teaching of Visual Arts, based on in Art History and with a contemporary bias, in formal and non-formal educational spaces. |
