| Resumen: | A motivação deste trabalho surge na união de um cenário intenso de alertas sobre a necessidade de transição energética e a ementa do curso de Especialização em Fontes Renováveis. A transição energética pode ser definida como o caminho para transformação do setor energético atual, com forte dependência de combustíveis fósseis, em um setor composto de fontes renováveis, com baixa emissão de CO2. O presente trabalho contribui para termos uma visão mais ampla da Matriz Elétrica Brasileira e a Transição Energética no Brasil, abordando a evolução dos dois temas até o momento, e avaliando as projeções para os próximos anos. Para a abordagem da matriz elétrica brasileira é feito um levantamento dos principais recursos renováveis disponíveis no Brasil e seus respectivos potenciais. Na sequência mergulhamos no tema principal do trabalho que é a transição energética, a nível global e especificamente no Brasil. O foco é apresentar como o Brasil está se posicionando na transição energética efetiva, elencando as principais dificuldades até o momento e ainda os desafios pela frente. Por fim utilizamos o subsistema elétrico do nordeste para avaliar os principais efeitos da transição energética, uma vez que se trata de um subsistema com grande inserção de novas fontes renováveis como eólica e solar. |
| Abstract: | The motivation of this work comes from the union of an intense scenario of warnings about the need for energy transition and the specialization course of Renewable Sources. Energy transition can be defined as the way to transform the current energy sector, which is heavily reliant on fossil fuels, into a sector with renewable sources of low CO2 emissions. This study contributes to a broader view of the Brazilian Electricity Matrix and the Energy Transition in Brazil, addressing the evolution of both themes so far, and evaluating the projections for the coming years. For the approach of the Brazilian electric matrix is made a survey of the main renewable resources available in Brazil and their respective potentials. Then we dive into the main theme of the study that is the energy transition, globally and specifically in Brazil. The focus is to present how Brazil is positioning itself in the effective energy transition, listing the main difficulties so far and the challenges ahead. Finally we use the northeast electric subsystem to evaluate the main effects of the energy transition, since it is a subsystem with intensive insertion of new renewable sources such as wind and solar. |
