| Abstract: | O objetivo deste texto é refletir sobre um dos ídolos do futebol no Brasil que despontou no cenário nacional durante a Copa de 2014: o zagueiro David Luiz. Procuramos perceber que traços dessa figura pública são valorizados em algumas narrativas midiáticas analisadas. A análise busca revelar aspectos configuradores dos ídolos do futebol na contemporaneidade a partir de três eixos: 1) habilidades técnicas como jogador em campo; 2) qualidades e valores de um sujeito na vida; 3) visibilidade e estratégias de marketing. |
| Abstract: | This study aims at discussing a soccer player idol in Brazil who has emerged in the national scenario during the 2014 FIFA World Cup championship: the defender David Luiz. We seek to perceive some features of this public personality that are valued in some media narratives. The analysis shows aspects that build football player idols in contemporary society from three axes: 1) technical skills as a soccer player; 2) qualities and values as a person; 3) visibility and marketing strategies. |
