Mulheres substantivas - Olympe de Gouges e Marietta Baderna: o papel subversivo das artes no contexto dos direitos humanos em movimento

Abstract

This essay brings to the text various cultural actions that express themes dear to the humanist tradition: literature, theater, fine arts, dance, music that develops around two women, Olympe des Gouges and Marietta Baderna. Both through the Arts signaled contradictions in the ideology of what was understood as “human”, “tolerable” beyond its time, from the antecedents of French Revolution. Through their actions in the public space destined for men, their links with the arts show tensions present to the reception of Human Rights (only of men?) in the environment of culture and social life. This is the guiding thread unfurled from Europe to follow to the Americas, where it dialogues with the African heritage, bringing to light extraordinary women who dared to denounce the fallacies between the discourse for equality, freedom and fraternity and actions within a unequal society, marked by silence and invisibility, while at the same time point out the complexity of the issue expressed in the term “human” that designates fundamental rights.
