Do haikai japonês ao haicai brasileiro: interpretação e performance

Abstract

This article references the book of my own, “Haikai and Performance: Poetic Images”. Here, I would briefly highlight some important points from the work published in Brazil in 2016 regarding the relationship between haikai and performance. The book was born from the research on the practical experience of assembling performance HAIKAI - only the clouds swim at the bottom of the river, and explores performance studies as a methodology of analysis, as well as manifestations of performance art, focusing on the artist's presence. (Relationship between life and art) and visual aspects embodied in works of this genre. With the Publication of Haikai and Performance: Poetic Images we have, in addition to an overview of haikai and performance theories, the original creation of a relationship between these two artistic expressions. It is a comparison and literary criticism, based on previous theoretical studies, put in dialogue and mirroring. Paulo Franchetti's studies on haikai and Vera Casa Nova’s on ideograms, texts and images, as well as the theories on performance developed by Richard Schechner and Diana Taylor, as well as all others mentioned in the work, were certainly fundamental to build this new path that brings haikai closer to performance.
