dc.description.abstract | The civil construction sector plays a major role in generating waste and using the planet's natural resources. To alleviate the damage caused and plan a better use of these resources, environmental certifications for buildings were created. In this work, the criteria of the LEED BD+C version 4 certification, in Water Efficiency category, were applied to analyse the potential for reducing water consumption from the implementation of sustainable strategies in a public building. The results showed that, through the strategies of replacement of the double flow discharge valve, it is empirically possible to reduce the annual consumption of potable water by 30%, and the investment with the replacement of parts would present a payback of 3.2 years. Through the results it is shown that through simple and viable solutions, it is possible to reduce the consumption of potable water and consequently the public expenses. | pt_BR |
| pt_BR |
