Apenas levando esse fato em consideração, podemos apreender a realidade política em sua complexidade. |
| Abstract: | This article aims to examine the relations between power, force and rhetoric in Machiavelli 's thinking. The work of the Florentine secretary frees us from the illusion that power is identical with force, showing us that its exercise is impossible without the discursive dimension. Only by taking this fact into account can we grasp the political reality in its complexity. |
