Abstract

In this article, from what José Chasin, in the wake of György Lukács, called immanent analysis, we intend to analyze the Marxian work in regard to two trends present throughout his production: the criticism of the degradation of the personality present in society capitalist on the one hand and, in the other hand, the way in which it would never be possible, from such a critique, to adopt a so-called “romantic” impulse to appreciate pre-capitalist forms of sociability from a socialist point of view. Marx is, simultaneously, acid in his critique of individualism that operates as a support for strange social relations under the order of capital, and sees, in the process of consolidation of bourgeois civil society, the emergence of the possibility of universal individuals.
