| Title: | Protagonismo e empoderamento feminino nos filmes de super-heroínas: uma análise dos filmes "Mulher-Maravilha" e "Capitã Marvel" |

| Abstract: | Os lançamentos dos filmes Mulher-Maravilha (Wonder Woman, Petty Jenkins, 2017) e Capitã Marvel (Captain Marvel, Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck, 2019) foram cercados de muita expectativa por serem os primeiros dos chamados Universo Estendido DC e Universo Cinematográfico Marvel a trazerem super-heroínas como protagonistas. Entendendo o cinema enquanto uma importante experiência de lazer, que pode colaborar na construção de outros olhares acerca do mundo, o presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar de que maneira foi construído o protagonismo das personagens Diana e Carol Danvers nos filmes Mulher-Maravilha e Capitã Marvel, respectivamente, por meio das narrativas e pela linguagem cinematográfica. Teve como objetivo também, compreender até que ponto foram efetivadas possibilidades de empoderamento para elas nesses filmes. Para a realização dessa investigação, utilizou-se como métodos a pesquisa bibliográfica e a análise fílmica, sendo esta com base nas propostas dos autores Laurent Jullier e Michel Marie, contidas no livro “Lendo as imagens do cinema”. Verificou-se que as estratégias para reafirmar o protagonismo de Diana se basearam, na narrativa, na sua aparência física e na sua constante presença em tela, representada na maioria das vezes, de forma sensualizada. Já para a personagem Carol Danvers, as principais estratégias que reafirmaram o seu protagonismo tiveram foco na narrativa e nos posicionamentos de câmera, que trabalharam a favor de aproximar o espectador da subjetividade da personagem. Quanto ao empoderamento, principalmente sob a ótica feminista, que tem como principal objetivo a quebra dos preceitos do patriarcado, os dados obtidos apontaram que para Diana, em relação a este aspecto, o empoderamento não se confirmou, enquanto que para Carol, foram construídas algumas possibilidades. Os resultados das análises demonstraram que os filmes trazem contribuições para a representação da mulher, dentro do gênero de filmes em que se colocam, mas que ainda persistem características da lógica patriarcal na construção da narrativa em torno de Mulher-Maravilha e na caracterização física de ambas as personagens. |
| Abstract: | The releases of the movies Wonder Woman (Petty Jenkins, 2017) and Captain Marvel (Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck, 2019) arouse an enormous expectation for being the first of the so-called DC Extended Universe and Marvel Cinematographic Universe to feature superheroines as protagonists. Understanding cinema as an important leisure experience, which may collaborate in the construction of other perspectives about the world, the present study aimed to investigate how the protagonist role of the characters Diana and Carol Danvers was developed in the films Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel respectively, through narratives and cinematographic language. It also aimed to understand to what extent possibilities of empowerment in these films were made effective for them. In order to carry out this investigation, bibliographic research and film analysis were used as methods, based on the proposals of authors Laurent Jullier and Michel Marie, contained in the book “Lendo as imagens do cinema”. It was found that strategies to reaffirm Diana's protagonism were based on the narrative, on her physical appearance and on her constant presence on screen, represented most of the time, in a sensual way. As for the character Carol Danvers, the main strategies that reaffirmed her protagonism focused on the narrative and on camera positions, which worked in favor of bringing the viewer closer to the character's subjectivity. As for empowerment, mainly from a feminist perspective, which has as its main objective the breaking of the precepts of patriarchy, the data obtained showed that for Diana, the matter of empowerment was not confirmed, while for Carol, some possibilities were built. The results of the analyzes showed that these movies contribute for strengthening women representation within the movie gender they are inserted. However, the patriarchal logic still persists in the narrative of Wonder Woman and in the physical construction of both characters. |
