| Abstract: | The Palliative Care (PC) is recognized as human right to health, a model treatments than promotes dignity and quality of life in the face of diseases that threaten continuity of life. There are health disparities and challenges that people who identify themselves as lesbians, gays, bisexual, transgender, queer and other identities (LGBTQ+) face to acess health care. The aim was to discuss how PC has been approached to LGBTQ+ people in scientific literature. It found there are: deficit in health professionals training; intense fear the LGBTQ+ people of receiving low quality care and suffering discrimination; and multiple overloads of caregivers. The findings indicate need to recognize the ethos cultural of the LGBTQ+ population; experiences in situations that threaten their life; inequalities and stigmas they experience, their autonomy about care and alert to implicit and relevant social phenomena to offer an assistance that is effectively comprehensive |
| Abstract: | Os Cuidados Paliativos (CP) são reconhecidos como direito humano à saúde, um modelo de tratamento que promove dignidade e qualidade de vida diante de doenças que ameaçam a continuidade da vida. Existem disparidades de saúde e desafios que as pessoas que se identificam como lésbicas, gays, bissexuais, transgêneros, queer e outras identidades (LGBTQ+) enfrentam para acessar os cuidados de saúde. O objetivo foi discutir como a PC tem sido abordada às pessoas LGBTQ+ na literatura científica. Constatou-se: déficit na formação dos profissionais de saúde; medo intenso das pessoas LGBTQ+ de receber cuidados de baixa qualidade e sofrer discriminação; e múltiplas sobrecargas dos cuidadores. Os achados indicam necessidade de reconhecer o ethos cultural da população LGBTQ+; experiências em situações que ameaçam sua vida; desigualdades e estigmas que vivenciam, sua autonomia no cuidado e alerta para fenômenos sociais implícitos e relevantes para oferecer uma assistência efetivamente integral |
