O direito econômico, o pioneirismo de Washington Peluso Albino de Souza e o desafio equilibrista: a luta histórica de uma disciplina entre padecer e resistir

Abstract

The article is part of the efforts of scientific research to honor and demonstrate the importance of the vast work of the introducer of Economic Law in the nation, Prof. Washington Peluso Albino de Souza. Thus, the essay aims to articulate and tune the debates of the national developmentalist with the actions of introduction and consolidation of Economic Law in Brazil. However, after the implementation of the neoliberalism of regulation, in the last decade of the twentieth century, the discussions about the developmental public policies are neglected, prioritizing the markets and their modernizing growth, coinciding with another side with the mutilations suffered by the Economic Law (content, time, intellectual production) in the academy, despite some “stability” of the discipline during the neo-liberal regulatory facet of neoliberalism. Today we have the balancing challenges of neoliberalism of austerity. As for the theoretical reference of the article, we logically use the teachings on neoliberalism and development of the honoree, Washington Peluso Albino de Souza, as well as his method of substantial analytical research. Finally, research is primarily doctrinal and documentary.
