dc.description.abstractThe historical development of a capitalist economy and their sub products, such as the modern leisure are usually associate with urbanization and industrialization. However, these factors do not seem to have been necessary conditions for modernizing changes everywhere. Rural regions also could to be insert in these processes, where the development of rural sectors seems to have been facilitated the historical emergence of an entertainment market. Analyzing Oliveira, a little city in Minas Gerais state, Brazil, the article looks for the historical development of the entertainment market in a rural region.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoO desenvolvimento histórico de uma economia capitalista e seus subprodutos, tais como o lazer moderno, são usualmente associados com a urbanização e a industrialização. Todavia, esses fatores não parecem ter sido condições necessárias para transformações desse tipo em todas as partes. Regiões rurais também estiveram inseridas nesses processos, onde o desenvolvimento do setor agrário parece ter facilitado o surgimento de um mercado de entretenimento. A partir do estudo da cidade de Oliveira, em Minas Gerais, esse trabalho analisa o desenvolvimento do mercado de entretenimento na transição entre os séculos 19 e 20 em uma região rural do Brasil.pt_BR
