Televisão em semiose: mídia, intermídia, transmídia

Abstract

Based on the Peircean model of semiosis, we understand media as an expressive form that concretizes signal processes of mediation. These involve the determination arising from a preceding sign, its object, and the representation by association (collateral experience) of a posterior sign, its interpretant. In this perspective, the reticular dynamics of contemporary television, characterized by the multiplication of channels and the fragmentation of the public, is examined as a mediator process that operates on two levels: a) in intermedia dynamics, by integrating varied mediatic instances that determine its current multi-screen composition; b) in transmedia dynamic, when it associates mediations from interactional practices in online social networks with the intermedia dynamics. From the prism of semiosis, the transmedia dynamics configures logical development of the intermedia dynamics because it incorporates new habits of action that pragmatically update the references of television language.
