| Abstract: | Este estudo explora a vertente da cartografia conhecida como mapeamento profundo. Trata-se de uma frente de investigação de caráter interdisciplinar cujo objetivo consiste em mobilizar técnicas alternativas de mapeamento a fim de alcançar um entendimento mais profundo sobre os lugares. Neste artigo, é feita uma revisão bibliográfica sobre o tema, trazendo um panorama de autores e definições. A partir da análise de alguns exemplos de mapeamento, levantamos a discussão sobre os processos que envolvem o mapeamento dos lugares a fim de orientar futuras discussões sobre o mapeamento profundo. Por fim, sugerimos que projetos de mapeamento profundo poderiam observar três etapas metodológicas: a deambulação, a arqueologia e a montagem. |
| Abstract: | This study explores a recent trend in cartography known as deep mapping. Deep mapping is an interdisciplinary approach whose objective is to mobilize alternative map-ping techniques in order to reach a deeper understanding of places. This article proposes a bibliographic review of the subject. It presents an overview of relevant definitions and principal authors in the field. The paper suggests that deep mapping projects involve three methodological steps: walking, archeology and montage. Based on the analysis of examples, the paper discusses the process of mapping places in order to guide future investigations in deep mapping. |
