Financiamento das EBTs: um estudo em empresas de nanotecnologia

Abstract

Obtaining financial resources by entrepreneurs to finance their ideas, it is one of the main difficulties faced by these agents. Therefore, this article aims to present an analysis regarding the form of financing of technology -based companies - TBCs that develop nanotechnology. This is because are companies that need high volume of financial resources and have a high level of uncertainty regarding its image and credibility with traditional sources of financing. Thus, questions arise about how nanotechnology TBCs fund their activities, how these companies choose the sources of funding and the relevance of some of them. To do this, was conducted descriptive research, of a qualitative nature, by the method of multiple cases, through semi- structured interviews with managers responsible for the subject under study. We observed that the companies analyzed their activities financially, mostly, by equity and making use, where possible, of non-repayable fund resources, granted by the government. It is important to note that the companies studied do not use resources of banks and funds, for strategic reasons.
