| Abstract: | Este trabalho tem como tema Design Universal e aborda a aplicação desse conceito, juntamente à acessibilidade, em habitações de interesse social. O objetivo é investigar a dificuldade de se implantar os conceitos de Design Universal em projetos arquitetônicos de conjuntos habitacionais. A pesquisa, inicialmente, apresenta o tema Design Universal, os antecedentes que levaram à origem desse conceito, seus princípios básicos e os desafios que envolvem a sua adoção no ambiente construído e a inconsistência das normas técnicas referentes à acessibilidade. Aponta também estratégias para se obter acessibilidade e aplicação do Design Universal que são utilizadas em projetos destinados a um grande número de usuários simultaneamente, como conjuntos habitacionais. Por fim, é feita uma análise crítica de um conjunto habitacional de interesse social, a fim de verificar os mecanismos utilizados para garantir a acessibilidade e que também poderiam se enquadrar no conceito do Design Universal. Concluiu-se que em determinados setores do projeto foram atingidos princípios do Design Universal, mas ainda muito se deve investir nos projetos para atender a todos os seus usuários. |
| Abstract: | This thesis has as theme Universal Design and the application of this concept, together with accessibility, in social housing. The objective is to investigate the difficulty of implementing the concepts of Universal Design in architectural projects of housing projects. The research, initially, presents the theme Universal Design, the antecedents that led to the origin of this concept, its basic principles and the challenges that involve its adoption in the built environment and the inconsistency of technical standards regarding accessibility. It also points out strategies to obtain accessibility and application of Universal Design that are used in projects intended for a large number of users, such as housing projects. Finally, a critical analysis of a housing project of social interest is made, in order to verify the mechanisms used to guarantee accessibility and that could also fit the concept of Universal Design. It was concluded that in certain sectors of the project the principles of Universal Design were achieved, but much remains to be invested in projects to serve all their users. |
