Abstract

Medical devices create pressure on the skin, subcutaneous tissue and even muscle, which leads to the appearance of ulcers in different regions of the bony prominences. Pressure ulcers (PU) related to medical devices are a challenge for the nursing team and the multidisciplinary team. The purpose of this integrative review are: to characterize the production of knowledge on the UP related to medical device, identify risk factors for pressure ulcers related to medical device and establish evidence-based recommendations for the pressure ulcer prevention related to medical device.
