Perfil demográfico e epidemiológico de pacientes em acompanhamento ambulatorial após transplante renal

Abstract

Kidney transplantation is considered a better treatment for chronic renal failure, by providing a better quality of life for patients. The objective was to delineate the demographic and epidemiological profile of patients undergoing kidney transplantation in order to better understand the profile of these patients and offer appropriate assistance. The study is retrospective descriptive and exploratory nature, carried out Hospital in Belo Horizonte, in the period 1987 to 2011. Data were collected by analyzing records of patients who underwent renal transplantation. These were introduced in Excel for Windows XP and analyzed according to the variables presented. Of the 153 patients analyzed 91 we located the medical records of 91 patients followed up and made research data. The most part of the patients was men; brown in the productive age group and married. The level of education of most often is complete elementary level, from the metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte. Hypertension was the most common underlying disease , and the predominant average of hemodialisys pre transplantation was 1-3 years. The prevalence of transplants from deceased donors and living related donors are equal. The main post-transplant comorbidities shown in this sample, Hypertension. Another aspect observed was that 50% of patients undergoing kidney transplantation have been re-admitted with transplants complications, the patient survival ranging from months to 23 years. The results allow a better planning with the needs of patients and constitute a source of consultation and encouragement to continue their studies in the institution field of study.
