| Abstract: | Introdução: A dor lombar (DL) é uma condição de saúde com alta prevalência na população mundial. Apresenta impactos físicos, psicológicos, econômicos e sociais. É uma condição multifatorial, necessitando de uma abordagem multiprofissional. A terapia manual tem se mostrado eficaz no tratamento da dor lombar. Objetivo: O objetivo desta revisão de literatura é analisar a eficácia da terapia manual na dor lombar. Metodologia: Foram realizadas buscas nas bases de dados Lilacs, PEDro e Pubmed no período de março a julho de 2020. Foram elegíveis estudos que abordavam o tratamento de dor lombar com terapia manual. Foram selecionados ensaios clínicos aleatorizados (ECAs). Resultados: Foram selecionados nove ECAs para essa revisão bibliográfica, todos apresentando DL como desfecho primário. Em cinco estudos analisados, a terapia manual se mostrou mais eficaz que os demais tratamentos em relação a dor e incapacidade. Conclusão: Os resultados mostram que a terapia manual é eficaz no tratamento da dor lombar. Porém não deve ser usada de forma isolada e sim associada a outros tratamentos. |
| Abstract: | ABSTRACT Introduction: Low back pain (DL) is a health condition with high prevalence in the world population. It has physical, psychological, economic and social impacts. It is a multifactorial condition, requiring a multiprofessional approach. Manual therapy has been shown to be effective in the treatment of low back pain. Objective: The purpose of this literature review is to analyze the effectiveness of manual therapy on low back pain. Methods: Searches were performed in the Lilacs, PEDro and Pubmed databases from March to July 2020. Studies addressing the treatment of low back pain with manual therapy were eligible. Randomized clinical trials (ECAs) were selected. Results: Nine ECAs were selected for this bibliographic review, all of them presenting DL as the primary outcome. In five studies analyzed, manual therapy proved to be more effective than other treatments in relation to pain and disability. Conclusion: The results show that manual therapy is effective in the treatment of low back pain. However, it should not be used in isolation, but in combination with other treatments. |
