| Abstract: | Os deslocamentos pendulares representam custos financeiros e de tempo. Assim, a realização de tais movimentos envolve características pessoais e relacionadas ao espaço territorial. A existência de desiguais padrões de demanda por trabalho nas distintas localidades possivelmente se reflete sobre os níveis de rendimento individuais. Utilizando microdados do Censo Demográfico de 2010 e métodos de decomposições de rendimento na média (Oaxaca-Blinder) e por quantil (Chernozhukov, Fernandez-Val e Melly), é conduzida uma análise do diferencial de rendimentos entre pendulares e não pendulares, na Região Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte (RMBH). Os resultados evidenciam que os indivíduos pendulares recebem, em média, rendimentos do trabalho relativamente menores, quando comparados àqueles que não realizam tal deslocamento. A análise por quantil de renda mostra que os indivíduos pendulares possuem, em média, menor rendimento, comparativamente aos não pendulares, nos menores quantis de renda, indicativo de que o deslocamento pendular pode estar mais relacionado a uma questão de necessidade do que de escolha. Por outro lado, nos quantis superiores de renda, a situação se inverte, com os pendulares passando a obter maiores rendimentos. |
| Abstract: | The commuting represent financial costs and time. Thus, the realization of such movements involves personal traits and characteristics related to the territorial space. The existence of unequal patterns of demand for labor in different locations possibly reflected on the levels individual income. The paper aims to investigate the relationship between wage differentials and commuting in the Belo Horizonte metropolitan area (RMBH). Using Census data 2010 and methods of income decompositions (OAXACA, 1973; BLINDER, 1973) and quantile (CHERNOZHUKOV, FERNANDEZ-VAL, MELLY, 2013) we intend to analyze the income gap between commuting and not commuting. The results show that commuters receive, on average, relatively lower labor income, when compared to those who do not perform such movement. The analysis per quantile income shows that the commuters have, on average, lower income compared to non-commuting in the lower quantile income.
