dc.description.abstractThe present work aims to present the Arts teachers of School District Divinópolis (MG) a new theme to be worked on during their classes in upper grades of elementary school. The research methodology is based on study and analysis of the works of sculptor GTO, and how to use the same folk art to work in the classroom in an attempt to bring art and the viewer, since the artist's works have many features common to the daily lives of students. This work will become very important for educators, because it enhances their knowledge-ha about the life and work of the artist on the popular sculpture, seeking to present new options for the practice of teaching the visual arts within the school environment.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoO presente trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar aos professores de Artes das Escolas Municipais de Divinópolis (MG) um novo tema para ser trabalhado durantes suas aulas nas séries finais do Ensino Fundamental. A metodologia da pesquisa encontra-se baseada no estudo e análise das obras do escultor GTO, e em como utilizar as mesmas para trabalhar a arte popular na sala de aula, numa tentativa de aproximar a arte e o espectador, já que as obras do artista possuem muitas características comuns ao cotidiano dos alunos. O presente trabalho se tornará muito importante para os educadores, pois ampliará seus conhecimentos sobre a vida e a obra do artista, sobre a escultura popular, procurando apresentar novas opções para a prática do ensino de Artes Visuais dentro do ambiente escolar.pt_BR
