| Resumen: | Existe um grande número de portadores de deficiência mental no Brasil que ainda vive em condições precárias de saúde bucal. As políticas de saúde reorientaram o modelo assistencial, porém ainda há um longo caminho a percorrer no que se refere à saúde bucal desses indivíduos. O atendimento odontológico aos portadores de deficiência mental deve ser feito de forma criteriosa na atenção básica. Priorizando, sem prejuízo das ações curativas, as ações voltadas para a prevenção e promoção da saúde. Sendo as doenças cárie e periodontal prevalentes nessa população devido às dificuldades ou falta de higienização, deve-se dar ênfase as ações de escovação supervisionada e educação em saúde bucal. Neste estudo buscou-se conhecer a situação da saúde bucal para deficientes mentais na atenção primária através de uma revisão narrativa da literatura. Espera-se contribuir para a implantação de programas educativos e preventivos nas unidades básicas de saúde. |
| Abstract: | A great number of carrying persons with mental deficiency in Brazil exists who still live in precarious conditions of buccal health. The politics of health had reoriented the assistencial model, however still it has a long way to cover as for the buccal health of these patients. The buccal health attendance to the carriers of mental deficiency it must be in the basic attention. Prioritizing, without damage of the to cure actions, the actions directed toward the prevention and promotion of the health. Being the caries and the prevalent illnesses of the soft part of the mouth in this population due to the difficulties or lack of hygienic cleaning, it must be given to emphasis the actions of supervised to brush and education in buccal health. In this study one searched to know the situation of the buccal health for deficient mental in the primary attention through a revision narrative of literature. One expects to contribute for the implantation of educative and preventive programs in the basic units of health. |
