| Abstract: | Demonstra-se a trajetória histórica do movimento humano associado às artes na sociedade ocidental moderna e ao advento do tempo livre do trabalho. Desde os primórdios, o cinema tematizou os esportes e se popularizou ao mesmo tempo dos Jogos Olímpicos modernos. Ao longo do séc. XX, o boxe foi um dos esportes mais retratados no cinema e vários filmes foram produzidos tendo Muhammad Ali como objeto principal. No filme Ali (Michael Mann, 2002) é demonstrado o atleta e o cidadão crítico, politizado, religioso radical e bem articulado, tendo como cenário principal a luta de Ali contra George Foreman no ano de 1974. |
| Abstract: | The historical trajectory of the human movement associated to the arts in modern Western society and to the advent of free time of work is demonstrated. Boxing was one of the most played sports in the cinema. In the film Ali (Michael Mann, 2002), the athlete and the critical, politicized, religious radical and well-articulated citizen is shown, having the fight of Ali against George Foreman in the year of 1974 as main scenario. |
