Title: Sub-20 fs UV spectroscopy to track primary photoinduced processes in thiobases

Abstract: Thiobases are studied by transient absorption spectroscopy employing sub-20 fs UV-pulses combined with hybrid QM(CASPT2)/MM(AMBER) computations (static and dynamic) evidencing that intersystem crossing originates from a dark intermediate state along the photoexcited relaxation pathway.
