dc.description.abstractHashtags are prevalent in the interpersonal spaces of Twitter, as well as in the debates on many different subjects. A hashtag usually encourages people to start discussions about a proposed topic. The number of responses co-occurring with a given hashtag represents attention to manifest content by others, to which respondents actively reply (GODIN et al, 2013). Taking the pervasive use of hashtags in digital communication (DC) into account, the aim of this paper is to analyze the hashtags used by Brazilian Internet users for verbal attack. Overall, our results indicate that hashtags prompted offensive and impolite language uses, notably very prevalent in DC, which was found to be licentious and permissive.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoAs hashtags são prevalentes presentes nos espaços interpessoais do Twitter, assim como no debate de tópicos variados. Uma hashtag geralmente encoraja os interactantes a iniciar uma discussão sobre um tema proposto. O número de respostas que coocorrem com uma hashtag representa atenção a um conteúdo manifestado por outros, ao qual os interactantes ativamente respondem (GODIN et al, 2013). Considerando o uso difundido de hashtags em comunicação digital (CD), o objetivo deste artigo é analisar as hashtags usadas por internautas brasileiros para realizarem ataques verbais. De modo geral, os resultados indicam que as hashtags atuaram como intensificadores, demarcando comportamentos discursivos ofensivos e impolidos.pt_BR
