| Abstract: | A Educação a Distância no Brasil tem avançado impulsionada pelas inovações das TICs online. A Universidade Aberta do Brasil propôs a criação de cursos de biblioteconomia na modalidade a distância e a Escola de Ciência da Informação da UFMG aderiu a esse projeto, se propondo a criar um curso BiblioEaD, somando esforços ao seu curso presencial. Visando conhecer o público alvo potencial, identificado, principalmente, como auxiliares e professores trabalhando em bibliotecas de escolas públicas nos diversos municípios de MG, foram enviados questionários online e foram obtidas 950 respostas que revelam um interesse significativo por parte dos respondentes em participar do curso de graduação na modalidade a distância e sua disposição para melhorar seu nível de conhecimento e comprometimento com as atividades na biblioteca. |
| Abstract: | Distance Education in Brazil has advanced driven by the innovations of online ICTs. The Open University of Brazil proposed the creation of distance learning library science courses and the UFMG School of Information Science joined this project, proposing to create a BiblioEaD course, joining forces with its classroom course. Aiming to know the potential target audience, identified mainly as teachers of Library use who work in public schools in the various municipalities of MG state; this being the purpose of the research. Through a questionnaire instrument, 950 answers were obtained, which reveal a significant interest by the respondents in taking part on the distance education undergraduate course in library science, and their willingness to improve levels of knowledge and commitment to the profession. The professional librarian has the opportunity to deal with a wide range of activities in the organization, production, dissemination, evaluation and analysis of information and with the great challenge of performing several functions simultaneously. |
