| Abstract: | No presente estudo, realizamos a análise de conteúdo das notícias jornalísticas sobre neurociência de um jornal impresso de grande circulação no Brasil, Folha de S. Paulo, em três períodos consecutivos entre 1986 e 2015. Observamos que de 12 categorias temáticas identificadas, nove delas evidenciaram os enquadramentos: “biologização do social” e/ou “criação de doentes crônicos”. A partir da análise dos resultados e de uma revisão da literatura, fizemos uma discussão sobre o papel da mídia e dos cientistas na construção do discurso e dos enquadramentos propostos, indicando a urgência em se promover maior aproximação entre tais atores. |
| Abstract: | In this research we set out to examine how journalistic coverage of neuroscience occurs in the Bra-zilian print media. With this objective in mind, we conducted a content analysis of the news about neuroscience published in the printed newspaper Folha de São Paulo, in three consecutive periods, between 1986 and 2015. Of the 12 thematic categories identified, nine of them highlighted the fra-meworks: “biologization of the social” and/or “creation of chronic patients”. Based on the analysis of the results and a review of the literature, we discussed the role of the media and scientists in the construction of the proposed discourse and frameworks, indicating the urgency of promoting a closer relationship between these actors. |
