Estudo de egressos dos cursos de conservação-restauração das universidades públicas federais brasileiras

Abstract

The study of graduates is an evaluation mechanism of Higher Education Institutions so that, with the collected data, they can critically reform their administrative, technical and pedagogical practices, in addition to assessing their role in society as a tool that promotes knowledge and that it is able to understand and modify reality, especially with regard to the insertion of graduated professionals in the job market. In this way, this research aims to understand the formation of bachelors in Conservation-Restoration of Movable Cultural Goods graduated in the three federal universities that offered the course until the year 2018, being the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), the University Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPEL), as well as knowing the situation of the graduate in the job market. The study started from a bibliographic research about the historical formation of the conservative-restorer professional, followed by the analysis of the Pedagogical Course Projects, curricular and physical structure of the baccalaureate courses of the three Brazilian federal universities. For the study of the perception of the graduates, graduated between the years 2011 to 2017, we opted for the use of an electronic questionnaire elaborated from researches of graduates from other areas, since this is a pioneer research in the field of conservationrestoration of movable cultural goods. The questionnaire was available on the Google Forms platform for 90 days and the responses were treated and analyzed. From the data collected, it was observed that the three courses offered share the same objective regarding the training of the conservative-restorer professional, however there are great differences regarding the curricular format. Regarding the profile of the graduates, it was found that the majority are women (84.30%), with an average age of 37 years, exercising the profession as self-employed (46.67%), receiving an average of two minimum monthly wages. It is noteworthy, however, that more than half of the respondents (50.41%) are not currently working in the area, showing that there is a need for better training of professionals following the changes in relation to the labor market, as well as the urgency as for the recognition of the profession, since there is direct competition with museologists, historians, architects, among others, for vacancies that would only be the responsibility of conservators-restorers, putting the heritage at risk. Finally, the novelty of this research is highlighted, and it is hoped that the data can be used for future analysis.
