| Abstract: | Vivemos em uma cultura cis-heteronormativa, que considera abjetos os corpos que são estranhos às expectativas de gênero e sexualidade. Situado nesse contexto, o artigo visa compreender de que forma produções em vídeo de pessoas trans/travestis, propagadas e popularizadas online, inspira(ra)m subversivamente a ressignificação de injúrias. Para tanto, ancoramo-nos metodologicamente na teoria queer e em reflexões de intelectuais de mídia e gênero. Nosso corpus é formado por quatro vídeos, que mostram pessoas que se autoidentificam como “bicha”, “viado” e/ou “travesti”: Laila Dominique, Vanessa, Deborah Palhari e Luísa Marilac. A investigação é desenvolvida a partir da análise desses audiovisuais, bem como de sua repercussão midiática. Consideramos que, mais que dar novos sentidos aos termos, essas pessoas trans(-)viadas ressignifica(ra)m contextos e as situações vexatórias em que foram inseridas, abrindo caminho para outras pessoas fazerem o mesmo. |
| Abstract: | We live in a cis-heteronormative culture which considers bodies that are foreign to expectations of gender and sexuality abject. Situated in this context, this article aims to understand how video productions of transgender people, propagated and popularized online, inspire(d) subversively the resignification of insults. Therefore, we methodologically anchor ourselves in queer theory and in reflections of media and gender intellectuals. Our corpus consists of four videos, which show people who self-identify as “faggot”, “queer” and/or “shemale”: Laila Dominique, Vanessa, Deborah Palhari and Luísa Marilac. The investigation is developed from the analysis of these audiovisuals, as well as their media impact. We believe that, more than giving new meanings to the terms, transgender people reframe(d) contexts and vexatious situations in which they were inserted, opening way for a series of other people to do the same. |
