Fluxo de informação do setor de acolhimento da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais: aplicação da ferramenta Business Process Modeling Notation.

Abstract

Information flow in organizations is the theme of this study, whose objective is to present a flow model, which exposes the structure, steps and activities carried out in the Host Sector and Welcome Program of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. For this, the article describes the information flow process (exchange of documents and information); and proposes improvements for the Sector team and for the International Relations Office, facilitating the integration of international students. The Design Science Research is the Methodology applied through the creation of an information flow model, using the Business Process Model and Notation tool, which allows students to have a complete view of the exchange procedures. In conclusion, the proposed model is an initial part of the process, considering that the student is in the home country, which indicates that new models need to be developed in order to represent the integrity of the process.
