Violência Infantil no município de João Monlevade

Abstract

The present work has as its theme, child violence in the municipality of João Monlevade-MG and aims to analyze the proposals of the municipality for the prevention and fight against child violence, established in the Municipal Plan for Childhood and Adolescence (2012-2021). The interest in this theme stems, on the one hand, from the professional performance of the researcher and her concerns about the theme, when she had the opportunity to experience different situations involving problems arising from violence, and on the other, from issues raised during the course of her academic education, when she had the opportunity to know and discuss the subject in various scenarios. Within this context, the research, of a qualitative nature, analyzed public policy as the set of decisions and actions of the government, focused on the solution of a social problem, which encompasses plans, projects, goals and actions that will be sought in research to know the municipal public policy, expressed through the Municipal Plan for Childhood and Adolescence (2012 - 2021) of the municipality of João Monlevade. It can be affirmed that, although the city of João Monlevade, is still very young, lives with child violence that has grown every day with neglect, physical, psychological and sexual violence as the most recurrent, requiring greater articulation of the social assistance service in order to work on the prevention of social risks or combating violence raised here. The results indicate that actions of some policies are implemented, but more effective and specific policies must be developed, besides strengthening actions between sectors to expand the municipal protection network.
