| Abstract: | O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar uma análise da distribuição espacial e da percepção de violência em Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais. Os dados utilizados são provenientes da pesquisa Migração, Vulnerabilidade e Mudanças Ambientais no Vale do Rio Doce, realizada entre 2013 e 2015. As estatísticas descritivas e os mapas de distribuição espacial da violência que subsidiam as análises desenvolvidas neste estudo foram obtidos por meio do software R e do software GeoDa. Os resultados revelam que a cidade de Governador Valadares é percebida como uma cidade violenta pelos respondentes do estudo, os quais não têm a mesma percepção em relação aos bairros. Os dados também indicam que a violência sofrida por um membro do domicílio, no próprio bairro, é mais baixa do que a sofrida em outros bairros. |
| Abstract: | The purpose of this article is to present the spatial distribution and the perception of violence in Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais. The data for this study come from a survey named Migration, Vulnerability and Environmental Change in the Vale do Rio Doce area. The data collection was held between 2013 and 2015. The descriptive statistics were done using R and GeoDa softwares. The results reveal that although the city is viewed as a violent locus, the neighborhoods are not. The results also indicate that the violence suffered by a member of the household in the neighborhood itself is lower than that suffered in other neighborhoods. |
