| Abstract: | Esta pesquisa busca analisar o processo de emancipação da América Portuguesa visando desenvolver uma investigação sobre as formas como a imprensa repercutiu e influenciou a conjuntura política da época. O propósito desta investigação é perceber como se articulou o processo de emancipação nos periódicos vigentes na época, particularmente o Correio Braziliense e a Gazeta do Rio de Janeiro, examinando como ambos abordaram os eventos em curso e a repercussão que tiveram naquele contexto, uma vez que a América Portuguesa era um vasto território heterogêneo e fragmentado. Assim, busca-se entender como os discursos veiculados a estes periódicos construíram a ideia de unidade, de pertencimento e sentimento de nacionalidade. |
| Abstract: | This research analyzes the process of emancipation of Portuguese America in order to develop an investigation into the ways in which the press reflected and influenced the political situation of the time. The purpose of this research is to understand how it articulated the emancipation process in the current journal at the time, particularly the Correio Braziliense and the Gazeta do Rio de Janeiro, examining how both addressed the ongoing events and the impact they had in that context, since Portuguese America was a vastly heterogeneous and fragmented territory. Thus, we seek to understand how the discourses conveyed to these periodic built the idea of unity, of belonging and sense of nationhood. |
