| Abstract: | Objetivo: Avaliar a prática e o conhecimento sobre a higienização de mãos entre manicures/pedicures que trabalham em salões de beleza. Método: Estudo transversal, utilizando questionário estruturado, com 235 profissionais, entre junho/2012 a março/2013, em salões de beleza de Belo Horizonte/MG. Os dados foram analisados por estatística descritiva, qui-quadrado e regressão logística. Resultados: Obteve-se 66,7% e 83,3% de acertos nas questões sobre práticas e o conhecimento em higienização das mãos, respectivamente. Manicures com mais de dois anos de experiência referiram práticas mais satisfatórias (61,9%/p<0,05) e aquelas que informaram trabalhar oito horas/dia obtiveram melhor resultado no conhecimento (57,4%/p<0,05). Apesar de 99,6% reconhecerem a importância da higienização das mãos, 40% revelaram não realizá-la no atendimento entre os clientes. Discussão: Manicures/pedicures apresentaram conhecimento satisfatório sobre higienização das mãos diferente da prática. Ações educativas devem ser previstas encorajando tal prática considerando a saúde ocupacional e dos clientes. |
| Abstract: | Objective: To evaluate the practice and knowledge about the hands hygiene of manicures / pedicures who work in salons. Method: A cross - sectional study using a structured questionnaire with 235 professionals between June/2012 and March/2013, in beauty salons in Belo Horizonte/MG. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, chi-square and logistic regression. Results: A total of 66.7% and 83.3% of questions were correctly answered on practices and hand hygiene knowledge, respectively. Manicures with more than two years of experience reported more satisfactory practices (61.9% / p <0.05) and those who reported working eight hours/day had a better knowledge result (57.4% / p <0.05). Although 99.6% recognized the importance of hand hygiene, 40% reported not doing it regularly. Discussion: Manicure /pedicures presented satisfactory knowledge about hand hygiene other than practice. Educational actions should be envisaged encouraging such practice considering occupational and client health. |
