| Abstract: | Objetivo: Identificar o perfil de pacientes internados para tratamento vascular e encaminhados para cuidados paliativos. Método: Pesquisa quantitativa, descritiva, retrospectiva. Foram utilizados dados secundários relativos aos atendimentos de pacientes adultos internados em um hospital geral de grande porte, ao longo de 24 meses. Foram realizadas análises de frequência absoluta e percentual, média e desvio padrão. Resultados: Os resultados mostram um perfil de pacientes em tratamento vascular e em cuidados paliativos formado em sua maioria por idosos (91%) e do sexo masculino (62,5%). A maioria tinha diagnóstico de doença arterial periférica (59%), seguido por 34% com pé diabético. Dentre as comorbidades, 88% tinham hipertensão e 44% diabetes. O tratamento clínico-conservador e amputação maior foram os mais indicados (41% cada). Do total, 47% teve Escala de Performance Paliativa entre 20 e 40%, e 94% foram classificados em cuidados paliativos predominante e exclusivo, sendo que 66% deles faleceram. Conclusão: Os achados sinalizam a gravidade dos pacientes idosos internados com agravos vasculares e a necessidade das instituições de ampliar o oferecimento de cuidados paliativos. |
| Abstract: | Objective: To identify the profile of patients hospitalized for vascular treatment and referred for palliative care. Method: Quantitative, descriptive, retrospective research. Secondary data were used regarding the care of adult patients admitted to a large general hospital over 24 months. Absolute frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation analyses were performed. Results: The results show a profile of patients undergoing vascular treatment and palliative care mostly formed by the elderly (91%) and males (62.5%). The majority had a diagnosis of peripheral arterial disease (59%), followed by 34% with diabetic foot. Among the comorbidities, 88% had hypertension and 44% had diabetes. Clinical-conservative treatment and major amputation were the most indicated (41% each). Of the total, 47% had palliative performance scale between 20 and 40%, and 94% were classified as predominant and exclusive palliative care, and 66% of them died. Conclusion: The findings indicate the severity of elderly patients hospitalized with vascular diseases and the need of institutions to expand the offer of palliative care. |
